Calibration usually requires standard weights covering more than 20% of the maximum weighing capacity. If you don’t have enough weights, I will also show you an alternative method below.

Step 1: Make full preparations before starting

First, clear all debris from the weighing platform and ensure the sensors are not stuck around. Then, turn on the indicator and preheat it for 15 to 30 minutes until the components stabilize. It is best to clear the indicator data before calibration to avoid interference from previous errors.

Step 2: Zero calibration – lay a solid foundation

Ensure the display shows "0" when the scale is empty. If not, press the "Zero" or "Clear" button on the indicator. If the numbers keep fluctuating, the platform or sensors may be faulty and must be repaired before calibration.

Step 3: Eccentric load calibration (corner difference adjustment)

This step is crucial! Place the weights separately at the four corners and the center of the platform, and record the readings. If the corner errors are significant, adjust the potentiometers in the junction box. Repeat adjustments until all corners show consistent readings. The recommended weight is one-fifth of the maximum capacity.

Step 4: Span calibration – the core step

Place the standard weights at the center of the platform and check if the displayed value matches the actual weight. If inaccurate, enter the indicator’s calibration mode and enter the actual weight so it can "re-learn". If multi-point calibration is supported, add weights in stages to ensure accuracy across the full range.

Step 5: Verification and recording

Do not finish immediately after calibration. Repeat the test two to three times to confirm stable and consistent results. Finally, record the calibration date, weight used, and operator for future reference.

Step 6: Pay attention to the verification cycle

Weighbridges used for commercial purposes are mandatory inspection equipment, with a legal inspection cycle of usually one year. It is recommended to perform a full calibration every six months to one year; shorten the cycle if used frequently.

Moving dozens of tons of weight is burdensome. You can use a small number of weights combined with known-weight substitutes (such as calibrated trucks or iron blocks), replacing them in batches for indirect verification. This is quite complex, so I recommend hiring a professional.
